The Stephens County Indian baseball team sweeps Madison County in region play.
Stephens County beat the Red Raiders 8-2in Danielsville on Wednesday.
Sophomore Evan Rumsey scattered six hits and threw only 67 pitches in his complete game. He struck out five and forced the Red Raiders into 10 ground ball outs.
Josh Slate and Matthew Henson each had two RBIs to lead the Indians offensively.
Rumsey and Logan Bell each drove in one run.
Sophomore Wyatt Wood took the loss for MadisonCounty, giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings.
The Indians are now 9-2 overall and 2-0 in Region 8-AAAA, while the Red Raiders fall to 7-5 overall and 0-2 in the region.
Stephens County is back on the road Friday in Dahlonega for the first game in a two-game series against Lumpkin County.
