Senior left-hander Austin Lord fired a one-hitter Wednesday night as the Stephens County Indian baseball blanked the Lumpkin County Indians, 12-0, in four and a half innings at the Reservation Wednesday night.
Lord allowed an infield single off of the bat of Daniel McCrary in the first inning for Lumpkin County’s only base hit.
The southpaw struck out eight batters and fanned five in a row at one point.
Ryan Cleveland had three RBIs and smashed his fifth home run of the season. Logan Bell went 3-for-3 and had his first home run of the season.
Casey Dickerson, Max Thomas, Davis McCall, and Mason Long all had RBIs as well.
Stephens County is now 6-2 on the season and 1-0 in Region 8-AAAA. Lumpkin County is 5-6 overall and 0-1 in the region.
The two teams play again today at 5:55 p.m. in Dahlonega in a make-up game from Monday’s postponement.
