Indian Baseball Begins State Quarterfinals Today

The Stephens County Indian baseball team heads on the road for the state AAAA quarterfinals later today.

Stephens County will travel to Cordele to play Crisp County in a best-of-three quarterfinal series.

Game One today begins at 4 p.m. with the second game following after Game One.

If the two teams split today’s doubleheader, the two teams would play the deciding game Wednesday in Cordele.

The winner of the Stephens County/Crisp County quarterfinal will play either Marist or South Effingham in the state semifinals.

Stephens County has reached the semi-finals by sweeping both Alexander and Northwest Whitfield.

Meanwhile, Crisp County is the Region 1-AAAA champion and swept Spalding and Statesboro in Rounds One and Two, respectively.

The other quarterfinal match-ups include Veterans hosting Troup County and Locust Grove hosting Redan.
