Heritage Falls Premieres Tonight in Toccoa

Toccoa and Stephens County will star on its own silver screen tonight.

“Heritage Falls,” the movie which filmed in Toccoa and Stephens County earlier this year, will premiere tonight at the Ritz Theatre at the Schaefer Center in downtown Toccoa.

There will be three showings of the film at the Schaefer Center.

Tonight and Friday, the movie will start at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, there will be a 3 p.m. showing.

Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children under 12 and can be bought in advance at the Chamber of Commerce office or at the door.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen said people should buy tickets in advance because the response to the movie has already been amazing.

“We have had great response,” said Paysen. “As soon as we sent it out, within 15 minutes, were here in the office getting tickets. It is very exciting. We have had tremendous response already.”

Any tickets not sold in advance for each showing will be available at the door on the night of the show.

Produced by INSP Films, “Heritage Falls” is a dramatic comedy that follows three generations of headstrong males as they venture into the American wilderness for a rugged weekend excursion.

The movie stars David Keith, Coby Ryan McLaughlin, and Keean Johnson.

It was filmed at various locations in the area, such as downtown Toccoa, Toccoa Falls, and Stephens County High School to name a few.

Paysen said she is excited to see Toccoa featured so prominently.

“Even in the trailer, it was just so fun to see all the different areas where they filmed here and the fact that they are keeping Toccoa-Stephens County in the movie is so unusual, but certainly to our benefit,” said Paysen. “We are excited to get the exposure actually that most towns do not receive as it is generally just rolling in the credits. The fact that they have kept the town name and the county name and the high school, it is going to be exciting to see it all come together. The trailer was just really well done, so I am sure that is indicative of what the movie is going to be as well.”

Tickets to any of the three showings can be purchased at the Chamber during business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
