Henshaw Signs With Truett-McConnell

Stephens County High School’s volleyball program sends its first player to the next level.

Last Friday, Jordan Henshaw signed to play college volleyball at Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland, Georgia.

Henshaw said she is excited to attend Truett-McConnell for a number of different reasons.

“Before I wanted to go to Truett without volleyball,” said Henshaw. “The volleyball is just a plus. It is really a godly school and I am excited to build my faith at that school and volleyball is just a plus and I am ready to be a leader on the team.”

Truett-McConnell is an NAIA school.

Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Melody Tenney said she is excited to have Henshaw join the program as they look to continue building the volleyball team at Truett-McConnell.

“Jordan actually verbally committed early in the Spring, so I have been looking forward to her coming,” said Tenney. “She is going to be one of the tallest girls on our roster next year, so I am looking forward to her to help out in our blocking. Defensively, she is going to be a tool that we cau use next year as we look to improve in our blocking.”

Henshaw played two years of varsity volleyball at Stephens County High School as an inaugural member of the team when it started during the 2014 season.

She said it has meant a lot to her to be a part of Stephens County High School volleyball.

“I just wanted a volleyball team, so it was great to finally have a volleyball team at the high school, and it really built my character a lot,” said Henshaw.

Henshaw is the daughter of Steve and Julie Paysen of Toccoa.

She will be full-time dual enrollment at Truett-McConnell this semester, starting classes this week.
