Harvest Festival Wraps Up in Toccoa

harvest festivalWeather that was at times, cold and windy, over the weekend did not stop the Toccoa Harvest Festival.

The annual event took place Saturday and Sunday in downtown Toccoa.

Thousands of people enjoyed food and craft vendors, along with games, entertainment, and children’s activities.

Wind and cold, especially Saturday, did cause some issues.

However, Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby said on Sunday that everything seemed to go well for the weekend.

“Overall, I think things have gone very well,” said Crosby Sunday. “I was afraid (Saturday) with the weather, we would not have many people, but we had great crowds. Today, it looks like we have great crowds.”

Helping the crowds Sunday was an excursion train from North Carolina that brought in more than 1000 people to Toccoa.

“Seems like everybody is enjoying the day,” said Crosby. “It is not quite as windy and it is a little warmer.”

Crosby also thanked all of the vendors and downtown businesses, as well as the volunteers, for helping make this year’s Harvest Festival happen.
