Harvest Festival Returns to Toccoa This Weekend

Final preparations are underway for this year’s Toccoa Harvest Festival.

The 38th annual Toccoa Harvest Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday in downtown Toccoa.

Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby said the Festival will include more than 125 craft and food vendors, along with much more.

“We will be having food vendors from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and so we are excited for that,” said Crosby. “I think that is always one of the favorites. Everybody is checking out the food. We also have great entertainment again this year. We have over 120 craft vendors. Every year, it seems like there is something new and different. They come up with new ideas. We have quite a few different vendors this year.”

There will be two stages of entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday.

One stage will be located on Sage Street. The other stage will be located on Doyle Street.

Along with the food, crafts, and entertainment, Crosby says there will be a lot of children’s activities.

“This year, we have the monster water balls and lots of kids like those,” said Crosby. “We have the bungee jump, Papa’s Little Choo Choo, inflatables, a mechanical bull, and little zippy pets.”

Also taking place Saturday in conjunction with the Harvest Festival will be the Classic Car Show, organized by the Stephens County Recreation Department. That will also take place on Doyle Street in downtown Toccoa.

Then on Sunday, an excursion train will arrive at noon in Toccoa from North Carolina. Crosby says everyone is invited to welcome that excursion train and its guests into town.

Crosby said everyone is just looking forward to a great weekend.

“It just looks like it is going to be another great year and we invite people who have never come before to come and for people who have been here over the years, we invite them to come back because there is always something a little different that we have for them,” said Crosby.

The hours for this year’s Toccoa Harvest Festival are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
