“Thank you all for coming to our grand opening today,” owner Riesh Shah told the crowd after the ribbon cutting.

“We’ll we’re just proud to be here,” noted Lavonia Mayor Ralph Owens. “We wish you luck. It’s a nice facility.”

Lavonia Mayor Ralph Owens was one of the many who attended the grand opening last Tuesday evening of the new Hampton Inn Hotel.

Chamber and civic leaders from Franklin County and Lavonia joined Industrial Building Authority Director Frank Ginn and Franklin County’s State Representative, Alan Powell, in welcoming the new hotel to the community.

Two years ago, owner Ritesh Shah of OM Ventures2, LLC Developers broke ground on the four-story hotel located off Georgia Highway 17 and Interstate 85.

The hotel opened in early summer and Shah said he is happy to be a part of Lavonia’s growth.

“We want to thank the community for supporting us and hopefully, we are a good addition to the community,” he said.

After the ribbon cutting, Shah opened a conference room and treated guests to a buffet dinner and live music.

Shah also owns the Holiday Inn Express across the street from the Hampton Inn.

He said business at both hotels has been very good so far.
