Guilty Pleas Entered in Va. Homicide with Toccoa Connection

The final two people charged in connection with a Virginia homicide that were captured in Toccoa last year enter guilty pleas in a Virginia courtroom.

The Roanoke Times reports that last week, 31-year-old Daniel Percy Arnot of Toccoa pleaded guilty in a Franklin County, Virginia courtroom to murder as well as a string of charges including burglary, armed burglary, grand larceny of a firearm, and vehicle larceny, among others in the death of 66-year-old Brian Edward Foy in Moneta, Virginia last May.

According to the Roanoke Times, Arnot will serve 50 years in prison.

Meanwhile, the Roanoke Times reports that 25-year-old Carrie Eujenna Ramey of Georgia also pleaded guilty in connection to the case last week.

The Roanoke Times report says Ramey pleaded guilty to burglary, vehicle larceny, and being an accessory in Foy’s murder and she could face upwards of 40 years in prison, though no sentence has been set yet.

According to the paper’s report, Ramey was in the getaway car while Arnot killed Foy.

The Roanoke Times also reports that a third co-defendant, 25-year-old Michael Anthony Edwards of Georgia pleaded guilty back in October to burglary and being an accessory to murder after the fact and was set to be sentenced this coming week.

Arnot, Ramey, and Edwards fled Virginia after Foy’s death and were captured in Toccoa the next day.
