GSP Releases Information On Two Accidents

November 29, 2012

More information is available on two accidents earlier this week on the Toccoa By-pass.

The first one occurred Wednesday at about 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of the By-pass and Memorial Drive.

According to the Toccoa post of the Georgia State Patrol, the two-vehicle accident involved a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by 63-year-old Jerry Wayne Hipp of Boiling Springs, South Carolina and a 2008 Honda Element driven by 44-year-old Doug Carlton Allen of Clarkesville.

Authorities do say that Hipp was taken to Stephens County Hospital, while Allen was not injured.

No narrative is ready yet on that accident, according to authorities.

The second accident occurred today at about 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of the By-pass and Georgia Highways 63 and 106.

The GSP states that a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Crystal Renee McCall of Toccoa was attempting to turn left onto Highway 63/106 from Highway 17 north, when it struck a vehicle driven by an unidentified minor heading south on Highway 17.

No one was transported for treatment of injuries, according to the GSP.
