GSP Releases Info on Weekend Accident on Hwy. 328

One person appears to escape serious injury after a weekend accident in Stephens County.

The one-vehicle accident happened Saturday afternoon just after 1:30 p.m. on the 2700 block of Georgia Highway 328, or Gumlog Road.

According to the Toccoa post of the Georgia State Patrol, a 1989 Ford Taurus driven by 20-year-old Brandon Gage of Martin was traveling westbound on the road when it failed to maintain its lane of travel and went onto the shoulder of the roadway, going up an embankment, then overturning and ending up back on the roadway on its top in the center of Georgia Highway 328.

The GSP said Gage reported remembering the glare of the sun in his eyes before the accident.

There were no passengers in the vehicle.

The GSP said Gage reported upper extremity injuries, but was not transported to the hospital.

Traffic was detoured for a time Saturday while the accident was cleared.
