GBI Investigating Cornelia Bank Robbery

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person who robbed a bank in Cornelia Tuesday.

According to the GBI, a bank robbery occurred at the Traditions Bank in Cornelia at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say the robber reportedly entered the bank wearing a Spiderman mask and holding a device, threatening he had a bomb.

No one was injured during the robbery and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

The GBI says the public’s assistance is needed to identify the robber.

GBI officials describe the robber as a medium complexion, about 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall, slender build, wearing dark pants, and a camouflage hoodie.

Also, the GBI says the subject was driving a dark, four door, hatchback, subcompact car, similar to a Nissan Versa or Chevrolet Spark.

Authorities do say that agents and investigators are working to compare this robbery with one in Gwinnett County on November 16.
