August 15, 2013

The North Georgia Technical College Foundation receives a contribution towards one of its programs from a local business.

Recently, North Georgia Tech announced that the Georgia Power Foundation has made a contribution to the school’s Foundation as a scholarship for students in the Electrical Lineworker program who have documented financial need.

According to North Georgia Technical College, the purpose of the Electrical Lineworker program is to provide the student with the necessary skills and knowledge to gain employment as an apprentice with electrical utility companies, both public and private.

Topics covered in the program include lineworker organization principles, lineworker workplace skills, lineworker automation skills, and lineworker occupational skills.

North Georgia Tech officials said that last year, the Foundation awarded over 100 scholarships to students with a financial need in order to help them receive an education, graduate and go to work.
