The Georgia Department of Transportation is announcing routine maintenance this week for Stephens and surrounding counties.
Work will take place weather permitting today through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In Stephens County, a crew will replace damaged overhead signs on State Route 17. A lane closure is required as this work occurs.
Meanwhile in Franklin County, a crew will seal cracks on Interstate 85 and lane closures will also take place as that work occurs.
Finally, for those traveling on Interstate 985 in southern Hall County overnight this week, the DOT said work is also planned to repair and replace concrete sections on the highway.
The DOT said crews will work overnights through Thursday if weather permits between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. between Exits 8 and 12 on I-985 North.
DOT officials said the work is expected to take several weeks and delays are expected overnight while the work occurs and one of two northbound lanes is closed on I-985 overnights in this area.
Motorists are asked to avoid that area overnight if possible.
