Ga. DOT Announces Routine Maintenance For Work For Area

The Georgia Department of Transportation says it will be manually cleaning drainage structures this week alongside State Route 145 in Stephens County.

It is one of a number of routine maintenance activities scheduled for northeast Georgia counties this week.

DOT officials said that while the drainage structures are being cleaned along State Route 145 in Stephens County, the shoulder will be closed where the work is taking place.

Elsewhere, DOT crews in Habersham County will inspect the drainage pipes for State Route 15/U.S. Highway 441, closing the shoulders while the work occurs.

Moving to Franklin County, a crew will trim vegetation along State Route 59, closing the shoulder as work occurs.

Then, the Franklin County crew will repair rutting that has developed alongside the edge of the pavement alongside State Route 51, then clean and restore the ditches.

The DOT said the State Route 51 work could require a lane closure, along with closing the shoulder.

Finally, a crew in Banks County will clean and restore ditches alongside State Route 98, closing the shoulder as work occurs.

According to the DOT, crews will work today and then Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. as weather permits.
