The Georgia Department of Transportation said some scheduled roadwork this week in Franklin and Banks counties will require lane closures.
According to the DOT, a crew will be repairing the driving surface of the southbound Interstate 85 bridge over the north fork of the Broad River in Franklin County. That work will require the closure of the outside lane daily.
Meanwhile in Banks County, the DOT said a crew will remove and replace damaged asphalt along State Route 184. That work will require a lane closure and a pilot vehicle or a flagger to direct motorists through the work zone.
The work is scheduled to take place today through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. if weather permits.
These are two of a number of projects taking place this week in northeast Georgia.
The others will only require median or shoulder closures.
Other projects include a repairing of a damaged guardrail alongside State Route 365 in Habersham County and mowing along I-85, as well as State Routes 51, 106, 174, and 59, in Franklin County.
DOT officials reminded motorists to reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
