Ga. DNR Addresses Misinformation About Deer Season

April 11, 2013

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that the deer season in the 2013-2014 hunting year is not being reduced.

According to a press release from the DNR, there has been misinformation about the topic released in some news outlets.

DNR Game Management Assistant Chief John Bowers said the proposed regulations under consideration recommend a 25-day reduction only in the number of either-sex or ‘doe days,’ not in the length of the overall deer season.

Bowers also said the proposed change is a result of scientific data and added deer hunters will still be able to hunt bucks during either-sex days.
Officials with the Georgia DNR remind citizens to always check for correct information on hunting regulations.
