Funeral Services Set For Kim Lanier

Funeral services are set for Kim Lanier.

Lanier will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Toccoa Creek Baptist Church.

Also, organizers have announced that there will be a candlelight vigil for Kim Lanier and to show love and support for the Lanier family tonight at 7 p.m. at the Cutting Edge Day Spa in Toccoa.

Lanier was shot and killed Monday morning in her Prather Bridge Road residence.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley says authorities have arrested and charged a 15-year-old juvenile with malice murder in connection to the case.

Shirley says the teen, who the sheriff says has mental challenges, shot his mother and then called 911 to report someone had been shot at the residence.

The case will be reviewed by the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s office to determine how it will proceed, but there is no timeline as to how long that review will take, according to the DA’s office.
