Friday Wreck on GA 17 Results in Injuries

A Friday night wreck in Stephens County results in multiple injuries.

It occurred just after 6 p.m. on Georgia Highway 17 near Yow Mill Road and involved three vehicles.

According to the Toccoa post of the Georgia State Patrol, all three vehicles were traveling in the northbound lane of Highway 17 when a vehicle driven by 51-year-old David Sexton of Toccoa stopped for traffic in the roadway.

The GSP says a second vehicle, driven by 42-year-old Candy Frazier of Lawrenceville, then stopped behind Sexton’s vehicle.

According to the report, the front of a third vehicle, driven by 51-year-old Dennis Gober, struck the rear of Frazier’s vehicle, which then caused that vehicle to strike the rear of Sexton’s vehicle.

Frazier and a passenger, 17-year-old Donovan Frazier of Lawrenceville, were both transported by EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to troopers, who say Gober had upper extremity injuries but was not transported.

Sexton and a passenger in his vehicle were not injured.

The GSP says Gober was cited for following too closely.
