While Stephens County was off this past week in high school football, a number of other area teams were in action last Friday.
In the only game involving a Region 8-AAAA team, Chestatee beat Johnson of Gainesville 36-26 in a non-region game as Johnson, a region 8-AAAA member, is playing a non-region schedule this year.
Elsewhere, Habersham Central lost to Norcross 55-0, Franklin County lost a close one to Jackson County 32-29, and Hart County shut out East Jackson 44-0.
The Stephens County Indian football team will return to action this week when it travels to Monroe Area for a Region 8-AAAA contest.
