Franklin Community Players Award Scholarships

Two recent graduating seniors at Franklin County High School are receiving scholarship money from the Franklin Community Players.

Recently, Franklin Community Players President Valicia Miller announced that Ally Ridling and Trevor Turner are winners of the FCP 2015 $500 college scholarships. Both recipients are residents of Carnesville.

Starting out as a freshman, Ally has filled many roles in the technical arena for Franklin Community Players, FCHS Spotlight Players, Land of Spirit and Savannah River Productions.

In all, Ally has worked on over 20 productions.

Ally plans to attend North Georgia Technical College and then Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah to attain a Theatre Design Degree.

Her goal is to have a career in technical theatre, specifically as a set decorator/props designer.

Trevor’s acting career goes back to his first roles in 2006 and includes roles in 23 local productions for Franklin Community Players, Land of Spirit, and Franklin County High School. He also has a strong background in the technical theatre arts, working on over two dozen productions.

Trevor plans to attend Auburn University and to start with basic theatre classes and then specialize in lighting design with a minor in sound design.

Miller said Franklin Community Players members are thrilled to be able to award these scholarships to Ally and Trevor.

She added that the group has relied on their talents for a number of years, and they have always been ready to support Franklin Community Players.
