Franklin Co. Updating County Code of Ordinances

By Buddy Hardigree, WLHR Radio, Lavonia

Franklin County has approved an update in the county’s code of ordinances.

The county’s code of ordinances hasn’t been updated since 2002.

This update will include all the legislation that has taken place since then.

According to Franklin County Engineer John Phillips, the estimated cost of the project is $7,500.

Phillips said the county manager has requested that the board approve the contract for the code of ordinance update project and also the online services.

Franklin County Commission Chairman Thomas Bridges said the update was long overdue.

Meanwhile, fellow Franklin County Commissioner Jeff Jacques stated that the update would be funded by the law library funds available in the county budget.

The motion passed unanimously.
