Franklin County High School has a new head football coach.
At the Franklin County Board of Education meeting last week, Franklin County School Superintendent Dr. Ruth Odell announced Jerry Underwood has the job.
Underwood has been the assistant football coach since 2008. He replaces coach Tommy Welch who is retiring.
Welch told the Franklin County Citizen he is confident Underwood is the right man for the job.
