Two men from Charlotte, North Carolina will be extradited back to Franklin County to face charges of carjacking.
It happened last Tuesday in Carnesville.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas, deputies responded to a 911 call at the Carnesville Car Wash on State Highway 59.
The victim told authorities that two black males armed with guns approached him and demanded he hand over his Mercedes Benz.
Thomas says just before the carjacking, witnesses reported seeing the pair driving around Carnesville in a red Ford pick up with Texas plates and also in a silver car.
All three vehicles were seen heading out of Carnesville on Highway 59 and a lookout was placed in Georgia and South Carolina for the vehicles. They were also placed on the Georgia Crime Information Center web site.
According to Thomas, both the Mercedes and the Ford pick-up were later spotted by authorities in Cleveland County, North Carolina.
That led to a high-speed chase in which the suspects were eventually caught and arrested.
Thomas says investigators discovered the red Ford pick up had been stolen out of Charlotte, NC and the Mercedes taken from Carnesville was recovered.
Arrested were 18-year old Daterrious Johnson and 16-year old Jacinto Henderson, both of Charlotte, NC.
In Georgia, both are charged with armed robbery, hijacking, and possession of a firearm during a crime.
Henderson will be tried as an adult.
They remain in the Cleveland County, NC jail, awaiting extradition back to Franklin County in the coming days, according to Sheriff Thomas.
