Authorities in Franklin County said a Toccoa man is one of two suspects being sought in connection with an armed robbery last week in the Gumlog community outside of Lavonia.
Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas identified that suspect as 26-year-old Reco Marshall.
“Reco is wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s office for the offense of armed robbery,” Thomas said Wednesday. “Reco is described as a black male, 26 years old, 6’1” tall and weighing 165lbs. Reco is considered armed and dangerous.”
Thomas said his office is asking for the public’s help in finding Marshall.
According to Thomas, Marshall was last seen in Gainesville on Tuesday night.
The armed robbery happened the afternoon of July 29 at a home off Gumlog Road.
Investigators said Marshall and another suspect, described as a white male with blonde cropped hair, blue eyes, and tattoos, held up a man and his girlfriend at the man’s home at gunpoint.
Shots were fired, but the victims were not hurt.
Marshall and the second suspect got away in a tan colored Mercury.
Thomas said authorities later recovered that vehicle in StephensCounty.
However, Thomas said Marshall could also be hiding out in South Carolina.
“Reco is from the Toccoa area, but it is believed he may be in the Liberty, SC area or Central, SC. All help will be appreciated,” Thomas said.
Anyone with information as to Marshall’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s office at 706-384-2525 or your local 911.
People do not have to give their name.
