Four Arrested After Search Warrant Served
Four people face charges after authorities serve a search warrant on a White Valley Road residence.
Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said that deputies with his office were following up on another investigation Thursday when they arrived at the White Valley Road home.
Shirley said that while there, deputies located a motorcycle that had been reported stolen out of BanksCounty, as well as a four-wheeler that had the Vehicle Identification Number plate removed.
According to Shirley, deputies then secured the residence and obtained a search warrant.
The sheriff said that inside, deputies located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and weapons.
Authorities arrested 64-year-old Betty Lathan, 23-year-old Tequilla Lacount, 18-year-old Katelyn Hill, and 23-year-old David Byargeon, all of White Valley Road in Toccoa.
Shirley said all four individuals were charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possessing a Vehicle with an Altered VIN.
The sheriff went on to say Byargeon was also charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
According to the sheriff, all suspects were being housed at the Stephens County Jail at last report as no bond had been established by the court at this time.
Shirley said the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
