Former Toccoa Mayor To Be Laid To Rest Today

Funeral services for a former Mayor of Toccoa will take place later today.

Harold Watson passed away Saturday at the age of 82.

Watson served as Mayor of Toccoa in 1968, while sitting on the city commission.

He also co-founded Bowen and Watson, Inc. in Toccoa in 1956, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1996. The general contracting firm continues to operate out of Toccoa today.

In addition, Watson was a former Board Member of both the Citizens and Regions Bank and the Associated General Contractors of Georgia.

Services for Watson will take place at 2 p.m. today at the Toccoa First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
