Five Arrested in Banks County Stabbing Incident

In Banks County, four men and a woman are charged in connection with a weekend stabbing.

According to Banks County Sheriff’s office spokesperson Sgt. Carissa McFAddin, it happened around 7p Saturday on Queen Road.

McFaddin said the victim, who has not been identified, called 911 Dispatch from a nearby church to report he had been stabbed.

Investigators say it started when a suspect identified as 30-year old Adam Cecil Workman of Queen Road and a female had gotten into an argument earlier that evening.

The stabbing victim tried to intervene and a fight between Workman and the victim ensued.

During the fight, three more male suspects showed up to help Workman and held the victim down while Workman allegedly stabbed him.

McFaddin said Workman allegedly stabbed the victim in the leg.

He was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment of his injuries.

The female victim also sustained minor injuries when another suspect, identified as 55-year old Marie Charlotte Croy, also of Queen Road, threw a heavy object at her during the altercation.

The three suspects along with Workman and another female suspect were arrested later Saturday night.

They are identified as 50-year old Ricky Joe Croy, 35-year old Billy Michael Long , and 58-year old Cecil Edward Workman all of Queen Road addresses.

Adam Cecil Workman is charged with Aggravated Assault.

Billy Michael Longis charged with False Imprisonment, Simple Battery, and Abandonment of Dependent Child

Marie Charlotte Croy is charged with Simple Battery

All offenders were arrested late that Saturday evening after arrest warrants were obtained.
