First Responder Appreciation Event Tonight

September 11, 2013

A local church will hold an event tonight to let the community show its appreciation for the emergency personnel and law enforcement of Toccoa and Stephens County.

The PointeChurch is holding a meal and recognition event tonight in honor of the Sheriff’s Office, Toccoa Police Department, EMS, Stephens County Rescue Unit, Toccoa Fire Department, Stephens County Volunteer Fire Fighters, Georgia State Patrol, and other first responders.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend the recognition service, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary at the Pointe Church.

Prior to the recognition service, the Pointe will serve a meal for first responders and their families at 5:30 p.m. in the Pointe’s gym.

Austin Ivester with the Pointe Church said the church wanted to hold the event to thank these men and women for what they do and felt that today would be an appropriate time to do so.

The Pointe Church is located on Highway 17 South, just south of the intersection of Big A Road and the Toccoa By-pass.
