Fight Leads To Stabbing, Arrest

A fight between two people this week results in an arrest.

Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said officers were called to a residence on Tuesday night.

“Officers were called to respond to a residence on South Pond Street,” said Jarrell. “When we arrived, our investigation revealed that a fight had taken place and one of the individuals involved had stabbed another individual with a pocket knife in the back.”

Jarrell said that 24-year-old Christopher Harrison of Toccoa stabbed 29-year-old Andrew Galloway of Toccoa.

According to Jarrell, both Harrison and Galloway lived at the South Pond Street residence where the fight took place.

The chief said that it is unclear what specifically led to the altercation.

“After interviewing the individuals involved in the fight and witnesses, Harrison was grabbed by Galloway in a bear hug and Harrison stabbed him in the back with his pocket knife,” said Jarrell. “Galloway was transported to the hospital, treated, and released. Our investigation also revealed that alcohol was a factor.”

Jarrell said that Harrison was charged by Toccoa Police with one count of aggravated battery.
