FedEx Delivery Man Arrested

A local FedEx delivery man has been arrested for stealing prescription drugs.
On August 3rd 2016, Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley reports his office assisted FedEx Security in an ongoing theft investigation stemming from Hall County.
Sheriff Shirley says his deputies had received information that a FedEx delivery driver may have been stealing medication from his route deliveries.
The FedEx delivery vehicle, which had been under surveillance after leaving the facility in Hall County was stopped in Stephens County on Ayersville Road. Once the Fedex delivery truck was stopped, an open FedEx package that contained two of the seven prescription containers of the stolen medication was found
Sheriff Shirley said his Deputies interviewed the truck driver, Christopher Menoscal, regarding the missing/stolen prescription medication. During the interview Menoscal gave deputies consent to search his personal duffel bag. During the search deputies located two pistols described as a Sig P38 9mm, and a Glock G17 9mm. Deputies also located several different non-prescription bottles containing various prescription medication including: Morphine, Hydrocodone, Lorazepam, and Diazepam. These medications are schedule 2 and schedule 4 narcotics and are believed to be a portion of the missing medication.
Sheriff Shirley says according to FedEx Security Investigators this was the company’s second report regarding the stolen medication. “It was brought to FedEx investigators attention last week a stage 4 cancer patient contacted FedEx after not receiving their medication.”
Christopher Menoscal age 34, of Columns Drive, Cumming Georgia was arrested and charged with, two counts of Possession of a firearm during the commission of a Crime, two counts of Possession of a Schedule IV Narcotic, and five counts of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic.
Shirley said Menoscal was the FedEx delivery man for the Stephens County Government Building “and we never would have expected this, but was glad to be able to assist the company.”
Since the reported arrest Christopher Menoscal was released after posting a $40,000.00 bond.
