Federal Tax Deadline Tomorrow

As a reminder, tomorrow, April 18 is the Federal Tax deadline.

Those who haven’t applied for an extension, e-file or postmarked your individual tax returns, will need to do so by midnight tomorrow night.

Usually on April 15, taxpayers have three extra days this year due to the 15th falling on a Saturday and today, the District of Columbia celebrates Emancipation Day, which is normally April 16, but that was Sunday.

Emancipation Day affects taxes the same way federal holidays do. Therefore, the tax deadline was pushed out to Tuesday, April 18, giving taxpayers the three extra days to file your returns.

Those needed more time to prepare your tax return can still request for a tax extension by tomorrow to push your tax deadline back six months.
