A Toccoa woman is dead after a two-car accident Wednesday evening in Habersham County.
Habersham authorities stated that 23-year-old Haley Amber Holmes of Toccoa died in the accident at the intersection of Antioch Church Road and Glade Creek Parkway.
The Toccoa post of the Georgia State Patrol reported the accident occurred just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Holmes was a passenger in a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 17-year-old Lindsey Williams, whose address is unknown at this time.
The GSP report indicated that the Monte Carlo was traveling north on Glade Creek Parkway when it did not stop at the stop sign located at the intersection with Antioch Church Road.
It was then, the report stated, that a 1997 Honda Accord driven by 22-year-old Jessica Taylor Huntington of Mount Airy traveling East on Antioch Church Road struck the Monte Carlo on its left side.
Williams and three other passengers in the Monte Carlo were also injured in the accident.
The GSP said Williams was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, while 26-year-old Willie Matthew Kellar of Eastanollee was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, 17-year-old Jordan Matthew Wilson of Toccoa was taken to Stephens County Hospital, and 23-year-old Jean Nicole Matthews of Gainesville was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Authorities reported that all had upper extremity injuries.
The report went on to say that Huntington and a passenger in the Accord, 19-year-old Salem Tracy Frady of Mt. Airy, also suffered injuries, but were not transported.
Officials with the Georgia State Patrol said that the investigation into the accident continues by the GSP’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction team.
