Early Voting Underway in Stephens County

Voters can start casting ballots today for the November election.

In Stephens County, early voting starts today downstairs in the Stephens County Government Building in downtown Toccoa.

Stephens County Registrar Theresa Kelley said polls will open at 8 a.m. today for those who are ready to vote in the general election.

“We are here for the next three weeks, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” said Kelley. “You can come into the office. Make sure you bring your picture ID.”

She said she has sample ballots available.

Also, Kelley said she has synopses of the constitutional questions being posed to voters on the November ballot in her office.

Besides Monday through Friday, early voting will also be available in Stephens County on Saturday, October 25th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. downstairs in the Government Building.

Early voting continues through Friday, October 31.

Kelley said people can also vote via mail-in, paper absentee ballots that are available now upon request.

Those are available, she said, through October 31 as well.

Election Day is November 4.

This year, voters in Stephens County are casting ballots in a number of contested state-level races, including Governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives, among others.

There are no contested county-level races in Stephens County on the November ballot.
