Time is running out in order to vote early for this November’s election.
Stephens County Registrar Theresa Kelley said today is the final day for early voting in StephensCounty prior to Election Day on Tuesday.
“They need to come see us before 5 p.m. today,” said Kelley. “They need to remember to bring a picture ID.”
Early voting takes place at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office, which is downstairs in the StephensCountyGovernmentBuilding in downtown Toccoa.
County voters who do not vote early will need to vote on Tuesday at the StephensCountySeniorCenter on Rose Lane.
Voters in Stephens County are casting ballots on SPLOST VI, which would continue the one-cent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax when the current SPLOST, SPLOST V, expires next year.
Meanwhile, voters in Martin are also casting ballots in a mayoral election between incumbent Don Foster and challenger Thomas Looney.
Kelley said that for those voters in Martin, early voting is especially beneficial.
“If you do not vote early for the town of Martin, you can vote the town of Martin election (on Tuesday) at the Martin Community Center and in order to vote the SPLOST election, you are going to have to come up to the Senior Center and vote at the Senior Center for the SPLOST election,” said Kelley. “So if you live in Martin, the best thing to do to vote in both elections is to come up and see us and do early voting.”
Kelley said that early voting has gone well so far.
