Early Voting Available in Stephens Co. on Saturday

Early voting is continuing in Stephens County for the November election.

It started back on October 13.

Stephens County Registrar Theresa Kelley said so far, it is going well.

“It has been really steady,” said Kelley. “We have been doing 100 or so people a day. We are, at this point in time, almost at 1000 voters, which is pretty good for the November election because we have another week to go.”

People can vote early next Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. downstairs in the Stephens County Government Building in downtown Toccoa.

However, Kelley said there is also early voting Saturday at the Government Building.

“We will be here from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,” said Kelley about Saturday’s voting hours.

Those voting on Saturday should enter through the downstairs back entrance of the Government Building.

Voters must also remember their picture ID.

Early voting ends on October 31.

Meanwhile, Kelley said there is also still time for anyone who wants to request a mail-in, paper absentee ballot.

“You can request those up through October 31 at 5 p.m.,” said Kelley. “By law, that is the last day I will be able to send out an absentee ballot. Those ballots have to be back into me no later than 7 p.m. on November 4.”

Election Day is November 4.

This year, voters in Stephens County are casting ballots in a number of contested state-level races, including Governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives, among others. However, there are no contested county-level races in Stephens County on the November ballot.
