Drug Operation Leads To Arrests, Charges

Four people face charges after a drug investigation last week.

Mountain Judicial Circuit N.C.I.S. Drug Team agents, working together with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions, Toccoa Police Department Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions, and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, conducted an undercover drug operation in the Highway 17 area in Toccoa.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said the operation resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine.

The sheriff said four people were taken to the Stephens County Jail.

43-year-old Alvin Charles Blanchard of Toccoa was charged with one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine.

22-year-old Michael Brandon Blanchard of Toccoa was charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute and one count of Bringing Contraband across a Guard Line.

36-year-old April Couch of Toccoa and 31-year-old Curtis Leroy McGee of Toccoa were both charged with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine and one count of Giving False Name to Law Enforcement Officers.
