Drug Arrest in Habersham Co.

On Sunday, April 9,  a drug investigation involving the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) led to the arrest of Christopher Kinney of Clarkesville, Georgia.

The arrest resulted from a traffic stop that was conducted by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office on a vehicle in which Kinney was a passenger. During the traffic stop, Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana, firearm and over $4000 in suspected drug money.

Kinney was arrested for warrants already outstanding for possession of methamphetamine and for parole violation.  As a result of this investigation, Kinney was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by convicted felon and possession of a firearm during a crime.  Kinney was transported to the Habersham County Detention Center.

The street value of all illegal drugs seized in this investigation are approximately $4670.

This investigation was conducted by the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office in conjunction with the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division. The investigation continues.
