DOT Honors Toccoa Resident

April 3, 2013

The Georgia Department of Transportation recognizes a Toccoa resident.

DOT Commissioner Keith Golden presented the monthly Commissioner’s Customer Service Commendation to Jill Garland of Toccoa last week.

According to the DOT, the agency honored Garland for consistently performing at a high level in her normal job responsibilities as well as “above and beyond” her normal job duties.
Specifically, the agency said Garland was nominated for her willingness to assist others, along with her dependability, friendliness and helpfulness.
Garland is the Procurement Officer for District One. She purchases supplies or materials and coordinates the weekly purchases for purchase cardholders, develops and manages service contracts, and is District Cashier. She also serves as clerical support for the Cleveland Area Office.

Garland began her career with Georgia DOT in 1995.

While she now lives in Toccoa, Garland is a native of Habersham County.
