The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced road work for this week in Stephens and surrounding counties, weather permitting.
In Stephens County, a crew will inspect drainage pipes under State Route 365.
Meanwhile in Franklin County, a crew will reset the grade of the shoulders alongside State Route 328 to ensure proper drainage from the roadbed and another crew will mow and trim vegetation in rights of way alongside State Route 63 and State Route 198.
Moving to Banks County, a crew will trim vegetation in the rights of way alongside State Routes 164, 63, 51, 184, and 198.
On those projects, no lane closures will be required.
However, faded roadway striping on Interstate 85 in FranklinCounty will be restriped and this work will require a lane closure as it occurs.
Also in Habersham County, a crew will work daily on the State Route 17/State Route 155 bridge over the Soque River in Clarkesville and a lane will be closed as crews work on the driving surface and under the bridge.
Another crew in Habersham County will be repairing overhead signs over State Route 365 and a lane closure is possible as that work occurs.
Crews will work today through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. if weather permits.
The DOT reminds motorists to reduce their speed in these and all work zones.
