For his part, the man named as the sole finalist for the Stephens County School Superintendent’s post said he is excited to receive that designation.
Bryan Dorsey spoke with AM 630 News about his selection Monday.
Dorsey said he feels this is a great opportunity.
“It is certainly an honor to be designated,” said Dorsey. “I think there is a lot of quality leadership on the board and in the school system. I know they have a great staff of teachers and support staff and I am certainly looking forward to serving the students, the staff, and the community of StephensCounty.
Dorsey went on to say that there are a number of things that attracted to him to the position and drove him to apply.
“Being familiar with the community, having been a principal in White County, and knowing the quality of the school system and the area itself and all that Stephens County has to offer certainly was something that was very attractive to me,” said Dorsey.
Dorsey said another thing that made the position attractive to him was the work of the last Stephens County School Superintendent.
He said Sherrie Whiten did an excellent job in moving the Stephens County School System forward during her time as Superintendent.
