Currahee Artists Guild Spring Art Show This Saturday

The Currahee Artists Guild Annual Spring Arts and Crafts Festival is this Saturday from 10 A.M.-5 P.M. on Doyle Street in Downtown Toccoa. The Currahee Artists Guild’s Deborah Hartley tells us about the festival. “The Currahee Artists Guild is sponsoring an art show for adults and children. Everyone is invited including local artists. You are also invited to participate in the Cleo Alexander competition sponsored by Harold Alexander. This is an Art Show for everybody.”

Inside activities will include a judged show with over 50 entering artists and the Cleo Floral competition in The Studio at 61 Doyle Street. Awards for both shows will be announced at 5 P.M.

Outside activities will include art booths set up on the sidewalk by guild members; face painting and a judged student art show for local children grades kindergarten-12 under the covered breezeway. Awards for the student art show will be announced at 4 P.M.

Hartley says the art show encompasses a variety of interests. “There will be nine categories of wonderful art. Paintings, drawings, pastels, pottery, fine crafts…it is going to be good! We invite everyone to come.”

This Saturday, Downtown Toccoa will also be hosting the 25th annual Taste of Toccoa, and a Relay For Life Classic Car Show. Hartley say it is going to be fun for the Spring Arts and Crafts Festival to be a part of those events. “We are thrilled to be a part of Taste of Toccoa and the car show. “ says Hartley; “This should be a really fun Saturday for everyone. I think the weather is going to be good. I think we have lots going on here.”

Again, that is the Currahee Artists Guild Spring Arts and Crafts Festival this Saturday 10-5 on Doyle Street in Downtown Toccoa.
