The Currahee Artists’ Guild Annual Spring Arts and Crafts Festival will be held this Saturday in downtown Toccoa from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Activities will include a judged show and the Cleo Floral Competition inside The Studio on Doyle Street, art booths set up on the sidewalk, a judged student art show for kindergarten through 12th grade under the covered breezeway, and musical entertainment all day.
Guild member Deborah Hartley says there will also be demonstrating artists with hands-on activities. “DeLisa Christ will be demonstrating hand building techniques with clay, and she will be in the breezeway. Linda Kelleher will also be there , and she will be demonstrating color pencil. This is free—anyone who want to sit down and try their hand can give it a try. This is for kids as well as adults. It won’t cost you a penny to have a lot of fun, so I’m inviting everyone to come out Saturday. It’s going to be a really wonderful day.”
Awards for the adult judged art show will be given at 5 p.m, and the children’s awards will be handed out at 4.
AM-630 WNEG will broadcast live reports from the Spring Arts and Crafts Festival from 10 until 12 noon Saturday.
