The Stephens County High School cross country team is preparing for its region meet tomorrow.
Cross country coaches Laura Brown and Bill Mallelieu appeared on last Thursday’s “Crunchtime” to talk about how the season has gone.
Brown said that the teams have done well and continued to improve throughout the year.
“We have run about nine meets so far and our boys are showing a lot of promise, possibly getting a state berth,” said Brown. “Our girls, we have had a little trouble having enough to fill a team to score, you have to have five to score. We had some softball players come out after their season and we have been able to fill teams and have done better than expected.”
The region meet is coming up tomorrow at Williams Mill Park in Flowery Branch.
Mallelieu said the course will be a challenge for the Stephens County runners.
“It is the hardest course we have ever seen,” said Mallelieu.
The top four teams at the region meet, along with the top six individuals will move onto state competition.
