Stephens County’s boys’ cross-country team is headed to the state meet.
The Indian boys placed third overall in Wednesday’s Region 8-AAAA meet at Williams Mill Park in Flowery Branch.
Chestatee won the boys’ team competition, with Johnson of Gainesville finishing second, and Lanier finishing fourth. The top four teams all qualify for the state meet coming up in the near future in Carrollton.
Individually for the Indian boys, Tristan Powell placed third and Jordan Black placed fourth overall.
Meanwhile, the Lady Indians will also be represented at states.
Freshman Deanna Lewis placed third overall as an individual and as a result, will go to states representing Stephens County as an individual.
Reports indicate that Chestatee also won the girls’ team competition.
