Credit Monitoring Available From Secretary of State’s Office for Voters After Data Breach

The Georgia Secretary of State’s office has contracted with CSID to provide one year of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restorations services to Georgia voters who appeared on the October 13 voter list that was sent to 12 groups that included sensitive personal information.

Enrollment in the monitoring services will be open though February 14.

CSID is also providing identity restoration services to any eligible voter if their identity is stolen at any point through December 31, 2016.

According to the Secretary of State’s Office, the identity theft restoration service is offered to every Georgia voter whose information appeared on the October 13 voter list and no enrollment is required for the identity restoration services.

However, the credit monitoring does require enrollment and voters will have to first validate eligibility.

To do that, go to www.sos.ga.gov and click on “Notice Regarding Voter Data,” then follow the links provided.
