Corps to Open Campgrounds and Day Use Areas May 1

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hartwell Lake Office will be opening area campgrounds and day use areas for the 2014 recreation season tomorrow (May 1st).

Campgrounds include: Oconee Point and Coneross in Oconee County, South Carolina, Payne’s Creek and Georgia River in Hart County, and Crescent Group in Anderson, South Carolina.

Day use areas that provide picnic shelters, picnic sites, restroom facilities, playgrounds, swim beaches, and boat ramps to open will include: Singing Pines, River Forks, and Weldon Island in Anderson, South Carolina, Friendship in Oconee County, South Carolina, Twin Lakes and Twelve Mile in Pickens County, South Carolina, Poplar Springs in Franklin County, and Elrod Ferry in Hart County.
