Corps Looking For Volunteers At Lake Hartwell

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said that advocates of Lake Hartwell seeking a volunteer opportunity are invited to apply for two positions at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hartwell Project site for the 2016 recreation season.

According to the Corps, the volunteer positions available are for day use gatehouse attendants and in-campground cleanup assistants.

Corps officials said the commitment starts in the spring and runs through the end of summer and volunteers are asked to serve for the entire recreation season.

The Corps said duty hours consist of approximately 25 hours per week per individual or 35 hours per week for couples.

Also, the Corps said free accommodations at a campsite located within a Corps of Engineers campground will be provided for the duration of the commitment.

According to the Corps, campsites are equipped with fresh water, electrical and sewage hook-ups, and are spacious enough to accommodate any size recreational vehicle, camper or trailer.
