Coroner Appointed to Committee

Stephens County Coroner Chris Stephens will represent the state’s coroners on a committee being formed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

County Administrator Phyllis Ayers informed county commissioners of the news at their meeting on Tuesday.

“He is been asked to serve by the GBI on a committee and represent the Georgia Coroner’s Association for at-risk adult abuse, neglect, and exploitation for older adults and adults with disabilities,” said Ayers. “This is a forum to identify obstacles, issues, or concerns related to elder death investigations.”

Commissioners congratulated Stephens for receiving the appointment.
