Concert Friday to Benefit Humane Shelter

A concert later this week will look to raise funds for the Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter.

Elvis Tribute Artist Cody Ray Slaughter will perform his “Elvis 56” biopic concert on Friday at the Tugaloo Center for the Performing Arts at Stephens County High School in Toccoa.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and tickets are still available.

Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter Director Jeff Roberts said that the funds raised from this show will go to help provide extra medical care and treatment for the animals at the shelter as it is needed.

“If we have an eye condition or something, it helps cover the cost of those kind of decisions on whether we can afford to provide the care or not,” said Roberts. “That can kind of depend on what kind of donations we get in and the concert is critical to help us raise funds for that.”

Roberts says that people interested in tickets can stop by the shelter on Scenic Drive in Toccoa during business hours, call the shelter at 706-282-3275, or go online to the Humane Shelter’s website at www.tschs.org.
